MusAS (Música Antiga Sagunt) emerged in 2015 with the aim of gathering proposals of early music regularly including the cultural programme of Sagunto and endowing these programmes with a structure combining the revival of musical heritage, the dissemination of this music and the support for specialized groups and performers in the field of early music. The series is jointly organized by the Department for Culture of Sagunto Town Hall and the Association Incipit Cultural, based on L’Arcàdia group, the resident group of the Series.

The first edition held on April 18th and 19th 2015 counted with the participation of the group Hirundo Maris, integrated by Arianna Savall (soprano, lyre and harps), Petter U. Johansen (tenor, hardingfele and cister) and Miguel Ángel Cordero (double bass and colascione), performing the programme Cants del sud i del nord (Songs of the South and the North). L’Arcàdia was the group entrusted with closing this first edition with the programme Zefiro torna, dedicated to the madrigales of Claudio Monteverdi. The group integrated by Aurora Peña, Elia Casanova (sopranos), Myriam Arnouk (contralto), Jorge Juan Morata (tenor), Giorgio Celenza (bass singer), Lixsania Fernández (viola da gamba), Robert Cases (tiorba Baroque guitar), Fernando Serrano (tiorba) and Francesc Gamón (harpsichord and conductor), counted with the special collaboration of Arianna Savall (soprano and harp) and Petter U. Johansen (tenor).

The next edition will count with a third concert and will take place from April 29th to May 1st 2016. Worthy of mention is the participation of the counter-tenor Carlos Mena who, accompanied by the Valencian ensemble Música Trobada will perform the programme Il pianto della Madonna, with music by Pergolesi, A. Scarlatti and D. Scarlatti. The second concert will be entrusted to La Bellemont, with a programme dedicated to Italian Baroque early music. This second edition will be closed by L’Arcàdia, the resident group of the series.
