ADDA•SIMFÒNICA is the resident orchestra of the  Auditorio de la Diputación de Alicante-ADDA, funded by the Provincial County Council. 43 professor-soloists in residence integrate its staff plus 60 academicians. ADDA·SINFÓNICA, with its principal conductor Josep Vicent, features eighteen projects in residence, between the international season and its educational shows, family concerts and stage shows or extraordinary projects. For the 2018-19 season it counts with the following guest maestros: Yaron Traub, the Spanish musicians Iván Martín, Virginia Martínez and Joan Enric Lluna, among others. It collaborates with soloists and composers like Viviane Hager, Juan Floristán, David del Puerto, Orfeó Valencià, Michael Nyman, Juan Echanove, Joaquín Achúcarro or the choreographer Igor Yebra. Some of its extraordinary projects of greater media projection are in collaboration with the Premio Azorín (Grupo Planeta), the Volvo Ocean Race, EUIPO or the famous theatrical and opera formation La Fura dels Baus. The discographic project of the orchestra has started with the complete works of the composer Manuel de Falla.

Josep Vicent, conductor

He is the artistic director of the Auditorio de la Diputación de Alicante-ADDA and principal conductor of its orchestra, ADDA·SIMFÒNICA. Very young assistant maestro of Alberto Zedda and Daniel Barenboim in the Teatro Real de Madrid, his career triggered after his work in the Concertgebouw Orchestra (1998- 2004). From then, an unstoppable international career started with orchestras like: London Symphony Orchestra, Royal Philharmonic Orchestra, Belgian National Orchestra, Paris Chamber Orchestra, Liverpool Philharmonic, Rotterdam Philharmonisch, Miami New World Symphony Orchestra, Residentie Orkest Den Haag, Kiev Symphony, the best Latin American orchestras and all the Spanish ones, including Orquesta Nacional de España, Simfònica de Barcelona i Nacional de Catalunya, Orquesta Sinfónica RTVE, Galicia, Valencia, Tenerife, Sevilla, Gran Canaria, Castilla y León, Málaga, etc.

A maestro with a strong personality in the field of stage, he has led opera productions in Gewandhaus Orchester-Leipzig Opera, Opéra del Theatre Royal de la Monnaie, Ópera del Gran Teatre del Liceu de Barcelona and Teatro Real.

Since 2014 until now he also works as musical director of La Fura dels Baus. Some of his better known collaborations have been performed with Guy Caron (Cirque du Soleil), Emilio Sagi, Víctor Ullate., etc. Worthy of mention in his wide discography is his Rite of Spring by Stravinsky, chosen as ‘The Best Classical Album 2009’. Premio de Interpretación de Juventudes Musicales, Premio Vicente Monfort de las Artes Ciudad de Valencia 2013, Premio Óscar Esplá Ciudad de Alicante, Premio Los Mejores Diario LA VERDAD 2016.

In 2018 he again conducts the London Symphony Orchestra, Orquesta Verdi de Milan, Slovenian Philharmonic, Zuid-Nederland Philharmonie and Orchestre d’Auvergne, among many others. He dedicates a great part of his time to promote projects for young people and after eighteen tours in four continents with this aim, accomplishing a wide diplomatic and cooperation work (European Union Culture Programme) as principal conductor of The World Orchestra (since 2004), he was appointed International Ambassador of the ‘Fundación Cultura de Paz’, presided by D. Federico Mayor Zaragoza.
