The Fundación Galindo, created in 2011 by Germán Galindo, was aimed at preserving the link of the surname Galindo with music. It develops its activities in the Region of Murcia and its basic goals are to enhance culture in the field of music, promote cultural exchange, stimulate, musical knowledge between citizens, grant aids for training and musical teaching and organise activities for the dissemination of music.

Continuing with its activities, on, July 24th and 25th 2018 the Senior School of Music of Murcia ‘Manuel Massotti Little’ welcomed the interviews and auditions to grant the eighth study scholarship offered by the Foundation and destined to improvement courses for higher graduates or equivalent training in musical performance. The endowment for the scholarship is 12,000 Euros and in this call, a total of ten applications were received: two pianists, a percussion player, a clarinet player, three violinists, a trombone player, a bassoon player and a singer.

The jury integrated by Germán Galindo, José Moreno, Juan Cambreleng, Juan Torres, Ignacio Hernando, Francisca Hernández, Federico Hernández, Octavio de Juan, Miguel Angel González, Miguel Ángel Centenero and Antonio García Egea granted the scholarship to Ana Isabel García Fernández, a 25 years old violinist who will continue her studies in the Conservatory of Brussels.

Likewise, the eight aids for musical studies for the 2018-2019 year were called, destined to pay the enrolment fees in conservatories of the Murcia Region amounting to 300 Euros. The results of this scholarship and the aids were made public on July 30th, in the Meeting Chamber of Calasparra Town Hall, coinciding with the celebration of the Holy Saints of the municipality.

The delivery of the corresponding amounts took place on September 8th in a public event held for such a reason.

For the 2018-2019 season, the Foundation foresees performing a concert, the result of the collaboration as award sponsor of the Certamen Nacional de Interpretación ‘Intercentros Melómano’, entrusted to the violinist Rolanda Ginkute, besides those organised with students of the High School of Music of Murcia and with winners of registration aids in Calasparra y Murcia.
