The Orquesta de Cámara de la Comunidad Valenciana was created in 2008 with Daniel Abad Casanova as principal conductor since the day it was established.

The orchestra is made up by excellent musicians born or resident in the Valencian Region and most of its members have belonged or belong to the main national and international orchestras, like the Orquesta RTVE, Orquesta Nacional de España, Orquesta del Palau de les Arts, JONDE, Orquesta de Valencia, Orquesta Sinfónica de Bilbao, Berlin Staatskapelle, Sinfonieorchester Baden-Bade, Freiburg Orchestra, etc.

Since its creation, the OCCV has performed in different auditoriums of Spain, developing most of its activity in the main auditoriums of the Valencian Region, it being the Palau de la Música de Valencia, the place where it has performed most frequently, obtaining great successes from critics and public alike.

The repertoire of the OCCV includes all types of works and styles, from the Baroque to contemporary music, paying special attention in its programme to composers from the Valencian Region.

The OCCV has collaborated with different choirs, like the Orfeón Navarro Reverter, Coro Veus Juntes, Coro de Niños Virelai, Coro Lex et Gaudium and it has performed together with prestigious singers and players like Carmen Romeu, María Maciá, Soledad Pedrosa, Pepa García Maciá, David Sánchez, Alexandre Guerrero, José San Antonio, Pablo Márquez, Haochen Zhang, etc.

In its opera performances, it has collaborated with the Escuela Superior de Diseño de Valencia, the Dance Academy of Valencia and maintains a close relationship with the choreographer, Rafa Darder.

Next season it will start a five concert tour with the title La Noche de Chaikovski (Tchaikovsky’s Evening) and a project named En torno a Boccherini (About Boccherini) together with the soprano Sandra Pastrana and the violoncellist Guillermo Pastrana.

Daniel Abad Casanova is one of Spanish conductors with the most international renown of his generation. Currently, he is the principal conductor and artistic director of the Orquesta de Cámara de la Comunidad Valenciana and principal conductor of the Opera Season of Andorra.

He studied piano, orchestra conducting and choir direction in the Higher Conservatory of Music ‘Joaquín Rodrigo’ of Valencia, obtaining the maximum qualifications. Later on, he perfected and widened his conducting studies in the Royal College of Music of London with maestros Neil Thomson and John Farrer and in the prestigious Hochschule für Musik Franz Liszt of Weimar (Germany) with Maestro Jorma Panula.

His concert repertoire includes all types of works and styles, from the renaissance until works of the 21st century.

In the orchestral field, he has conducted, among others, the Orquesta de Valencia, Orquesta Sinfónica de Albacete, Joven Orquesta Barroca de la Comunidad Valenciana, The New Professionals Orquestra (London), Jena Philarmonie (Germany), Orquesta Sinfónica de Villena, Oltenia Craiova Philharmonic (Romania), Orquesta Sinfónica Ciudad de Elche, Orquesta Sinfónica del Teatro Chapí, Orquesta Ciudad de Llíria, Orquesta Sinfónica de la Universidad Miguel Hernández, etc.

He has conducted and worked with prestigious national and international soloists, both instrument players and singers. Next season he will perform for the first time in México, Bogotá, and Vienna and in the mythical hall Tonhalle of Zurich.
