An orchestra managed and directed by and for young people

The Orquesta Filarmonía Granada was founded in January 2015 thanks to the initiative of four Granadian young people. Its main targets are to provide opportunities to young soloists, conductors and composers by means of an eclectic programme that includes all genres and styles. By means of meetings counts with regular collaborators from the entire country and abroad. Since its creation until now, the principal conductor is maestro Ricardo J. Espigares Carrillo and has as the honorary conductor maestro Enrique García Asensio.

It has performed concerts in all the auditoriums and stages of the city of Granada and part of Andalusia. It has been invited by the Real Academia de Bellas Artes de Granada, Festival Internacional Guadix Clásica, Festival de Música Clásica de Huéscar, in the commemorative concerts of the 25th and 26th anniversary of the twinning of the cities of Freiburg and Granada, Universidad de Jaén, to mention but a few. Often participates in the concert season of the Auditorio Manuel de Falla. Among the music entities with which it has collaborated and worthy of mention are the Orfeón de Granada, Coro del Real Conservatorio Superior de Música de Madrid, Coro de Ópera de Granada, Joven Orquesta de Córdoba, Joven Orquesta del Sur de España, Escuela Superior de Canto de Madrid, among others. It is one of the collaborating orchestras of the Intercentros Melómano Competition.

 From among many young soloists, all these have collaborated: Guillem Gràcia Soler, Antonio J. Gómez Cruz, Adriana Zarzuela, Francisco J. Sánchez, Antonio Gervilla Díaz, Antonio Linares, María González, Carlos del Castillo Martínez, Alejandro García Sosa, Ángel López Hernández, Javier Corral Berbel, Héctor Alganza Jiménez, Mely Zafra Baena, Claudia Gallardo Uriarte, Alberto García González, Luis Enrique Martínez García, Ignacio Cano Raboso, José Luis Morillas, Francisco Crespo, Alejandro Bustamante, Verónica Plata, Víctor Cruz, Leticia Rodríguez, Pablo Martín Reyes, Alma Campón, Sara Rapado, Jorge de la Rosa, Acacio Contreras, Rocío Faus, Carmen Mateo, Pablo Martínez, Javier Povedano and Pablo Ruiz. We can mention among the guest conductors Enrique García Asensio, Ángel López Carreño, Dean Tchobanov, Darío Tamayo, Andrés Juncos, Pablo Pegalajar and Amadora Mercado Pérez.

Considered by the newspaper Ideal as one of the emerging talents of orchestral conducting in Spain. He graduated in Orchestral and Choir Conducting in the Royal Conservatory of Music of Madrid. An outstanding student and assistant to maestro Enrique García Asensio. His talent, skills, determination and his extensive training have taken him to conduct many symphonic national and international formations; worthy of mention are the concerts with the municipal bands of Málaga, Seville, Jaén, Madrid, Joven Orquesta de Córdoba, Joven Orquesta del Sur de España, Joven Orquesta de la Costa Atlántica (Portugal), Orchestra of George Enescu University (Iasi, Romania), National Camerata of Bucharest (Romania), among many others.

In October 2018, he made his international debut conducting the Orchestra of Plovdiv State Opera (Bulgaria) together with Mila Georgieva, first violin of the Stuttgart Radio Symphony Orchestra. In April 2019 he made his debut conducting the Orquesta RTVE and in June with the Banda Sinfónica Municipal de Madrid.

Among his prizes and awards, worthy of mention are the Best Student of the International Course of Orchestral Conducting of the Fundación Sergiu Celibidache, Second Prize of the 1st National Composition Competition Ciudad de Toledo, First Prize of the Second Band Competition of the Granada County Council, Third Prize of the International Conducting Competition of International Atlantic Coast Orchestra Festival, National Award Cultura Viva 2016, Artistic Revelation.

His future commitments include concerts with the Orquesta Ciudad de Granada and the Belem State Theatre Orchestra (Brazil).

Principal conductor of the Orquesta Filarmonía Granada, the Banda Sinfónica Municipal de Guadix and artistic director of the International Series of Música Guadix Clásica and the orchestra of said festival. Currently he is represented by the Spanish agency Iberkonzert.
