For more than a decade, the Real Maestranza de Caballería de Ronda has been organising the Semana de la Música (Music Week), an annual event together with the International Ontology Congress. During the first week of July, culture has an obliged appointment in the facilities of the institution and in other venues of the city. Every year based on a different theme, joining two events with a common nexus: a series of concerts and a meeting of music-philosophy.

In the concerts and conferences, additional subjects related to philosophical matters are tackled, as well as the projection they have in the musical world. Moreover, other topics are also taken into account, such as musical structure, the evolution of its laws and the links with formalised disciplines and other fields of human activity.

In previous editions, distinguished teachers, philosophers, researchers, players and musical creators of a national and foreign scope have gathered. Composers like Hugues Dufourt and Joan Guinjoan, philosophers like Agustín García Calvo and Francis Wolff, among others, and important performers like Pilar Jurado, Carlos Alvarez or Rocío Marquez.
